Position Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images, administering radiopharmaceuticals as appropriate, and ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required.
-Graduate of an ARRT-accredited School of Radiology required.
-Current Louisiana Nuclear Medicine Technologist license required.
-Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
-Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or healthcare-related environment preferred.
-Strong technical, communication, and patient care skills.
-Ability to follow department policies, procedures, and standards with minimal supervision.
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
-Emotional maturity and the ability to function effectively under stress.

Key Responsibilities
-Perform nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians.
-Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
-Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images and maintain proper documentation.
-Monitor patient safety, comfort, and well-being throughout imaging procedures.
-Operate and maintain imaging equipment according to department standards.
-Follow radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
-Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members.
-Observe professional ethics and maintain strict confidentiality of all patient, family, medical, financial, and employment information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Riverside Medical Center policies.
-Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly.
-Participate in required safety training and continuing education programs.
-Perform additional duties as assigned.
