Ultrasound Tech
POSITION TITLE: Ultrasound Sonographer

DEPARTMENT: Radiology

REPORTS TO: Radiology Director

STATUS: Flex

RESPONSIBILITIES: Will be responsible for performing radiological and diagnostic ultrasound examinations as required by staff physicians, under the direction of the Radiologist.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and be registry eligible for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Must possess a current Diagnostic Medical Sonography license within 6 months of hire.

Desirable characteristics include:
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) License
• Louisiana Radiologic Technologist License
• ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) License
• Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment
Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards with minimal directions. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
