Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair activities throughout the hospital, affiliated buildings, and grounds. This role supports a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for patients, visitors, and staff by assisting with building systems, equipment maintenance, and routine repair work.
Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required.
-Minimum of two years of maintenance or related experience preferred.
-Working knowledge of building maintenance systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
-Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
-Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and follow department standards and procedures.
-Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing.
-Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout hospital buildings and grounds.
-Assist with maintenance of heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and painting projects.
-Complete routine work orders that do not require specialized training.
-Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns.
-Follow all safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
-Participate in required safety training and instructional programs.
-Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
-Protect confidential patient, employee, financial, and organizational information.
-Support a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
-Perform additional duties as assigned.
